flickr?

Posted By on October 4, 2006

So, who uses what to host their photos? Is flickr the winner it seems to be? Is there any damn thing that allows you to do a batch upload?

These are important questions I need answered so y’all can see my photos.

Google’s photo web site lets you batch upload from Picasa. It looks like flickr also has a batch uploader.
I like them both but have problems with them both. Google won’t let you link to your photos, so if I want to post a photo in livejournal, it can’t be there. Flickr is less easy for my non computer savy family to navigate.

Good luck.

I use http://www.picturetrail.com for most pics – works especially well for auctions and family albums and such. I pay a little bit to have extra space, but it’s well worth it for all the features, I think. It definitely has a batch uploader, and also gives you the ability to batch pics into individual albums.

I also use flickr, but mostly only for pointing people to a site with a few better-than-average personal pics. The limited ability to organise photos on the free level is frustrating to me. The simple UI is what makes it attractive to most people (along with the myriad ways to upload to it), but I prefer the features of picturetrail for most things.

LJ also has their own picture thingie – http://pics.livejournal.com/. I’ve got pics there (or, I *think* I do), but my satisfaction with picturetrail and the long-time beta nature of LJ’s offering have kept me from really investigating it.

I’m ready to see pics of y’all’s adventures, so I hope you figure out what you want to use quickly :D

I use photobucket… And yes you can do batch uploads but you have to select each picture you want. It is also easy to edit.
