Swimming with my nephew Mathew

Mathew and I went swimming today in the hotel pool while Keena watched. I bet you didn’t know that there were sharks in Holiday Inn pools, but there are. Lots. And also lions and tigers. But some of the sharks were friendly, and only one bit off part of Mathew’s foot. At nighttime, when the lions and sharks were sleeping, there were owls, but they weren’t angry and they didn’t attack.
I have never met a kid who asks to be tickled so much. Pretty much the only time he remembered to say please without reminders was to say “Tickle me again, please” “No, on my feet.”
Also, Spider-man, Batman, Iceman, and Wolverine visited. The Power Rangers tried to visit too, but I wouldn’t let them. I asked Mathew if he knew any games that weren’t about superheroes, to which his first answer was, “Didn’t you hear? Superman is dead. He wasn’t very strong and it was in the newspaper.”
We played hide and seek, which consisted of Mathew hiding and then jumping out and yelling, “BOO!” when I got to 9. Then he sat down, ready to count, and said to me, “Okay, your turn. You hide over there,” pointing to a completely empty corner of the room.
He is the cutest kid ever. And so amazingly affectionate. I can tell that Keena and her mom and brother are doing a great job with him.

How cool that he ASKS to be tickled! It must be that he read about how ticklish Batman is. Yup!
Mirella used to say, in her slyest-I’m the cutest curly haired two year old EVAR-voice, “Don’t tick-ole MEEEE!” while holding her shirt up and jutting out her belly button. Then as soon as you reached for her, a giant squeal and running away as fast as her wobbly fat little legs would carry her. If you didn’t catch her, she would turn around with this crushed expression and just stare at you. As if to say, “How could you NOT want to tickle me now? What’s wrong?”
Was there lava in the pool? Hot lava is the very bestest game to play with Spiderman, Batman and Iceman. Seriously!
